Stretching creative muscles.

Any creative, whatever your medium is, knows how important it is to have a personal project from time to time. Whether its something you work on for a day, a single idea you execute, or something that takes you years to finish, these projects help keep our minds fresh, ideas flowing, and our work feeling unique.

My medium of choice is more often than not, photography. Obviously, since you have landed here on my blog, you know this.

I try and do at least one creative challenge, thank you Unraveled Academy, a month, minimum. If I do so as part of a challenge from a group or community, or just something I was personally inspired by, what it does for me and my work just uplifts me. I'll often take on a new genre or work on a skill I am not fluent in. This piece was created and inspired by the Banksey image "girl with a heart balloon". Unraveled Academy, the amazing community of artist I am apart of, challenged us to created an image which was "inspired by"... and go from there. Many chose a movie, a song, a novel or concept even. I almost went with the Greatest Showman, and honestly still might do this in the future.

But this image, I have seen used in many ways. And what it symbolizes for me, and makes ME feel, is what I aimed to recreate.

Release

Letting go

freedom

This is what I feel when I look at this image. A weight is lifted, the burden is no longer holding you down. Though the future is uncertain, you release whatever it is that is holding you down, and feel hope, freedom, peace.
